In recognition of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome’s 40th anniversary, the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl was named one the 40 most significant events in Superdome history.
“Having our bowl game recognized alongside the major events that have taken place throughout the history of the Superdome is a great honor.” said R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Executive Director, Billy Ferrante. “We are very thankful to Alan Freeman (SMG General Manager) and his staff for their hard work and support over the last 15 years.”
The recognition comes as part of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome’s yearlong celebration of the iconic venues history.
“As part of the stadium’s anniversary celebration, beginning on August 3 the Superdome will highlight some of the 40 most unforgettable events, festivals, sporting contests, and live performances in its history, as selected by SMG, through lighted projections on the exterior of the building,” according to a Superdome press release.
The 15th R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl will be held on Saturday, December 19th featuring Sun Belt Conference Champion Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech.
