GNOSF Honors Jontre Kirklin as the 2015 QB Club Prep Player of the Year

Hundreds of attendees gathered on Tuesday, December 15th to honor recipients of the 2015 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club Prep Player of the Week winners.

Lutcher QB Jontre Kirklin took home the day’s biggest honor, Prep Player of the Year.

Kirklin led Lutcher to the Class 3A state championship, racking up 3,614 total yards of offense and 57 touchdowns. Kirklin completed 179-of-303 passes (59%) for 2,407 yards and 38 touchdowns and rushed 197 times for 1,207 yards and 19 touchdowns.

“As the title sponsor of this event, the Sports Foundation would like to thank Ken Trahan, the Cannery, and everyone who makes this event possible.” said GNOSF President/CEO Jay Cicero.  “High school football is an important part of our area and it continues to be a great tradition to honor the players every week, their families and coaches at the end of the year banquet.”

In addition to Kirklin being honored, Edna Karr Head Coach Bryce Brown was honored as the Coach of the Year.
